Gérald Lionel Roy
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gérald Lionel Roy, on Thursday, January 25th, 2024 at Southbridge Cornwall, at the age of 92 years. Gérald is predeceased by his only son, Gérald Émile Roy. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Aline (Lauzon) Roy, his daughter-in-law, Gisèle (Rouleau) Roy, his grandchildren, Dominic Roy, Sébastien Roy, Mylène Lacroix and France Lacroix-Pelloni (Umberto) and by his great-grandchildren, Vincent Roy, Eve Roy, Chloée Roy and Jacob Lacroix-Cardinal. He is also survived by his sister, Lillian (Roy) Duffy and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his 9 other siblings. Gérald was a Public Health Inspector for the Eastern Ontario Health Unit. He was an avid fisherman and the “St. Lawrence River” was his second home during fishing season. He loved gardening, volunteering for various community organizations, singing in choirs, singing “chansons à répondre” at family gatherings and after retirement, he became a skillful wood carver. But most of all…he loved his family with great passion and showered us all with bountiful love and affection. Family will be in attendance at Lahaie & Sullivan Funeral Home East Branch, (614 First Street East, 613-933-2841) on Friday, February 9th from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. A Memorial Service will be on Friday, February 9, 2024 in the Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Father Marc Piché officiating. Gérald has requested that, in lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations be made to Aultsville Theatre, Cornwall, ON Messages of condolences can be left at www.lahaiesullivan.ca.
