Gerald Aurele “Gerry” Côté

Peacefully and surrounded by his family, Gerald Aurele “Gerry” Côté, passed away on July 27th, 2024, at the age of 65 years old. He was born on March 13th, 1959 in Cornwall Ontario. Dear father to Marc Major and Natalie Côté. Grandfather to Adriana, Korbin and Marcus (Marc), Javier and Evelyn (Natalie). Survived by many brothers and sisters; Cécile, André, Jean-Louis, Monique, Rose-Marie, Huguette, Jacques and Jeannine, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Marcel Côté and mother Imelda (née Pilon), brother Bernard and sister Diane Champagne (née Côté). Gerald had a remarkable talent for masonry, brickwork and architectural skills. His love for history has contributed to Cornwall’s historical background. His legacy lives on through the restoration of the Upper Canada Village in Morrisburg, through many local monuments, buildings and home restoration in the S.D.&G area. In addition, his large collection of unopened vintage pop bottles will be donated for public viewing. He will be remembered for his remarkable courage, perseverance, and sense of humour. In dedication to his faith, a service will be held on August 16th, 2024 at 10am at St Columban Catholic Church. A celebration of life will be held for family and friends following the mass.  The family wishes to send special thanks to the Cornwall Hospice staff and of The Ottawa General Hospital for their compassion and outstanding care.
