MAYER, Fernande – Peacefully at St-Joseph’s Villa on Friday, April 10th, 2020. The former Fernande Bazinet, formerly of 27 Léonia Street; age 90 years. Beloved wife and best friend for almost 69 years to Fernand Mayer. Cherished mother of Gaston (Lise Lacasse), Mireille (Claude Sabourin), Ginette (Léo-Paul Sabourin), Jacques (Lorraine Bélanger), Gérald (Julie Dagenais) and Louise (Gilles Lessard). Dear daughter of the late Alsime Bazinet and the late Otilia Piché. Survived by two sisters, Rita Forgues and Réjeanne Bourgeois and one sister-in-law, Lucille Bazinet as well as her brothers and sisters-in-law of the Mayer family. Sadly missed by several grand-children, great-grand-children and numerous nephews and nieces. Predeceased by her sisters, Germaine Bazinet, Ermina Constantineau, Annette Forgues and Préscilla Houle and her brothers, Joseph, Rolland, Fédime, Gérard, Émile, Bruno, Hector, Dieu-Donné, Lévi and Emery. The family would like to extend very heartfelt thanks to the devoted and caring staff of the St-Joseph’s Villa, Quinn House, who took such good care of her during the last few years of her life. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the M. John Sullivan Funeral Home. Due to the ongoing pandemic, a “celebration of her life” will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donation to St-Joseph’s Villa or to the Alzheimer’s Society of Cornwall would be appreciated by the family.
