Daniel (Danny) George Vincent Kelly
Peacefully at the Cornwall Community Hospital on Friday, November 24 with family by his side. Predeceased by his parents Gerald and Nancy (née Connolly) Kelly, and sister Colleen Keeley (Stephen). Devoted husband of Sharyn (née Patchell). Proud father of Cian. Loving brother to Kathy Kelly (Larry) of Kingston, Theresa Gifford (Jim) of Brantford, Karen Kelly of Orillia, David Kelly (Sylvie) of Rockland, and Dennis Kelly (Vanessa) of Ottawa. Will be missed by his mother-in-law Lois Patchell and his brother-in-law Gordon Patchell (Christina), as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. One of seven children from a close-knit family from Kingston, Ontario, Dan loved family time. Reminiscing during holiday get-togethers about childhood summers in Tamworth. Sharing the connections he made across Canada, the United States, and parts of Europe as he researched his family’s roots. Being a “gentle giant” and a shoulder to lean on when relationships, school, or work were tough. But through it all, Dan was happiest and proudest when spending quality time with his son Cian as a long-time volunteer with Scouts Canada and Scout Leader of the 3rd Cornwall Troop. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday December 1, 2023 from 12:00 to 1:45 as well as the service on Friday December 1 , 2023 at 2:00 at Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home (49 Colborne Street, Kingston, Ontario). A private internment will follow. In lieu of flowers, family and friends are invited to make a donation in Dan’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home, Central Chapel.
