Alma Mary Valley-Godard
Peacefully, at Chartwell Lancaster on Wednesday November 8, 2023 at the age of 100 years. Beloved wife of the late Aime Godard and the late Lawrence (Lorne) Valley. Loving Mother of Richard Valley (Wendy) of Blairmore AB, Gail Lawrence (Gordon Darling) of Coleman AB and the late Roderick “Roddy” Valley. Proud grandmother of Shawn Valley and Ryan Valley. Dear daughter of the late James Blair and the late Mary (née McLennan) Blair. Predeceased by her brothers Eddie (twin brother), John, Rod and her sisters Helen, Freda, Doris and Margaret. Alma lived a full life; employed at CJSS Radio Station for 29 years until she retired, active member of Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch 297 for over 30 years, member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297, Navy Club and the over 60 Senior’s Club and Member of the congregation of St. John’s Presbyterian Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to M. John Sullivan Funeral Home 341 Pitt Street Cornwall Ontario (613-938-1039). A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 25, 2024 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297, 415 Second Street West Cornwall at 1 p.m. As expression of sympathy donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, MS Society, Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch 297 or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297 would be appreciated by the family.
