CORNWALL, Ontario – In the spirit of the season, CAPE extended its wings to wrap up 2017 the right way, offering their first ever Kid’s New Year’s Eve Party.

Having hosted an adults’ New Year’s Eve party for several years, CAPE co-founders Randy and Carol Sauve knew early on that they wanted to include young people in the excitement of welcoming a new year.

“This is all about the kids, and I’ve had parents come up to me and tell me how much they appreciate it,” said Randy. “This applies directly to the fun of CAPE, and allows a younger generation to will learn about CAPE.”

With over 120 people in attendance, Randy and Carol are fairly certain this is the first of many kids New Year’s Eve parties.

“As long as the kids are having fun, there will definitely be a ‘next year’,” said Carol.

Featuring kid favourites such as bowling, music, snacks and pizza, there were no sad faces at this party.

“When you find a con that actually fits your morals and everything, it’s awesome,” said Sarah Jane, who made the trek from London, Ontario with her husband and son.

As CAPE continues to grow, Randy says that keeping up the momentum has been relatively easy.

“With social media, it’s become constant,” said Randy. “It’s gotten easier as we’ve moved along because you figure out what works and can build on it. People have been really receptive to the events.”
