CORNWALL, Ontario – The Ottawa Champions Baseball Club and the Optimist Club of Cornwall are working together to support baseball and softball clubs in Cornwall.
Tickets from the Ottawa Champions Baseball Club July 21 game against the Trois-Rivières Aigles will help support local clubs including Cornwall District Minor Baseball, Cornwall Kinsmen Minor Girls Softball and Cornwall Optimist Minor Softball.
“This event is an opportunity for us to promote the City of Cornwall in Ottawa,” explained Mayor Leslie O’Shaughnessy. “Cornwall Tourism staff will be on hand to spread the word about the attractions available in our city.”
The Optimist Club of Cornwall has organized a shuttle bus from the Civic Complex to Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Park in Ottawa for the game. The bus leaves at 5:30 p.m. on July 21 and will be returning around 11 p.m.
“It’s also a chance for our local ball players to watch professional baseball players in action, all while supporting the baseball clubs we have here at home,” said O’Shaughnessy.
Cornwall baseball players will be on the field during the national anthem, and a fireworks show will go off at the end of the game.
Tickets are $14 for adults, $11 for seniors, $5 for youth aged six to 15, and children under five enter free and tickets are available through Cornwall District Minor Baseball, Cornwall Kinsmen Minor Girls Softball and Cornwall Optimist Minor Softball.
