Epione Health is a modern, integrative health clinic located in Cornwall at 310 Second Street West. Their women-led team is made up of two naturopaths, a chiropractor, osteopath, lactation specialist, nutrition therapist, and massage therapist. Open since September 2020, the team expanded their operations and moved to their current location in November 2022.
At a time when finding a quality health care provider seems like an impossible task, Epione Health is a breath of fresh air. Not only are they currently accepting patients with minimal wait times, but they also focus on helping people feel their best rather than offering a band-aid solution to health issues and sending patients on their way.
Dr. Veronique Theriault discovered naturopathic medicine after years of struggling with undiagnosed Hashimoto’s disease and IBS and decided to pursue a career helping others reach optimal health.
Certified breastfeeding specialist and IBCLC candidate, Kathleen Du Perron Menard, RN, launched her practice after struggling to find breastfeeding support when her son, Ben, was born in August 2022. An exclusive pumper, she is passionate about pumping education and support. As part of her practice, Kathleen has a lactation boutique selling pumping supplies and other items that cannot be found locally.
Kori Lammers, Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, shared that starting her practice with Epione Health was a ‘no-brainer’ due to the welcoming environment. She became an osteopath after going to one herself, finding lasting relief from a recurring knee and shoulder injury. Kori refers to herself as a body mechanic, using a whole-body perspective to get to the root of her patients’ concerns.
While the clinic treats men, babies, and children, they have a strong focus on women’s health.
“Women healthcare is pretty minimal beyond offering like, you have bad periods here’s birth control, you have acne here’s birth control, you have a mood problem here’s birth control. You know what I mean? There’s a lot more that we can offer past… that,” explained Dr. Vero, who works closely with peri-menopausal and menopausal women.
Dr. Vero works with her sister, Dr. Corinne Theriault, who is a chiropractor. Dr. Corinne specializes in pediatric care, prenatal and postpartum care as well as working with the patients to reduce things like pain and headaches.
“Whenever you come here you get a little bit of everything from everyone, just really the perks of having everyone under one roof,” Dr. Corinne told Seaway News, “We share a lot of patients, which is nice because then you get optimal care.”
Each practitioner at Epione Health has their own specialties. They pride themselves in guiding their patients to the right person, whether that is someone internal or they refer externally. Unlike most clinics that have an ‘icky’ feel to them, Epione Health is designed to be as cozy and welcoming as possible. They are also very family-friendly, bilingual, and open late to make care more accessible.
These days, it’s common for people to feel like they are falling through the cracks of the healthcare system. Individuals with autoimmune conditions are left without proper care when their specialists retire. People of all ages are gaslit into believing that fatigue and pain are normal. The professionals at Epione Health want you to know that these things are not normal, and healing is within reach.
