BREAK AND ENTER, POSSESSION BREAK-IN INSTRUMENTS, DISGUISE WITH INTENT
Cornwall, ON – Jason Durnion, 50, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 24, 2024, and charged with the following:
- Break and enter a place – commit indictable offence
- Possession break-in instruments
- Disguise with intent
It is alleged on May 21, 2024, the man broke into a Pitt Street business. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man allegedly broke into the business, while under disguise, with break-in instruments and stole items. On May 24, 2024, the man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on July 2, 2024.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 25, 2024 and charged with fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on May 25, 2024, the youth was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to remain in his residence at all times expect when in the presence of an adult approved by the Children’s Aid Society. It is also alleged on this date, the youth left his residence unattended. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – Amanda Broadhurst, 43, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 25, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on May 25, 2024, the woman attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was released to appear in court on June 27, 2024.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – Megan Julien, 26, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 25, 2024, and charged with five counts of theft under $5,000. It is alleged:
- On April 26, 2024, the woman attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
- On April 26, 2024, the woman attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
- On April 30, 2024, the woman attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
- On May 2, 2024, the woman attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
- On May 9, 2024, the woman attended a Montreal Road business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
On May 25, 2024, the woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was released to appear in court on July 2, 2024.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – Mariah Major, 31, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 25, 2024, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on May 25, 2024, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to remain in her residence during specific hours and to not be outside her residence with alcohol in her body. It is also alleged on this date, the woman was observed outside of her residence during the specific hours she was supposed to remain in her residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The investigation also revealed the woman was under the influence of alcohol. She was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was held for a bail hearing.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Laura Buckley, 26, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 26, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on May 16, 2024, the woman was scheduled to appear in court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On May 26, 2024, the woman was located and the warrant was executed. She was released to appear in court on July 11, 2024.
IMPAIRED, OVER 80
Cornwall, ON – Ivan Longtin, 62, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 26, 2024, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. On May 26, 2024, police responded to an impaired driver call and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man allegedly operated his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was released to appear in court on June 18, 2024.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 26, 2024, and charged with assault. It is alleged on May 22, 2024, the youth assaulted an individual known to her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 26, 2024, police responded to a trouble with youth call, and the youth was located. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
WARRANT, DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 26, 2024, and charged with domestic assault and mischief under $5,000. It is alleged on Feb. 20, 2024, the man assaulted his girlfriend and damaged her property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for the man’s arrest. On May 26, 2024, while police were dealing with a separate matter, the man was located. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on June 25, 2024. The man’s name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.
IMPAIRED, OVER 80
Cornwall, ON – Patrice Pomerleau, 51, of Saint-Lazare, QC, was arrested on May 26, 2024, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. On May 26, 2024, police responded to an impaired driver call and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man allegedly operated his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was released to appear in court on June 18, 2024.
