BARRIE, Ont. — The visiting Oshawa Generals outshot and outscored the Barrie Colts en route to a 3-0 Ontario Hockey League playoff victory on Sunday at Sadlon Arena.
Luca D’Amato, Luke Torrance and Connor Punnett scored for the Generals, who won the first round, best-of-seven playoff series 4-2.
Generals’ netminder Jacob Oster made 32 saves to post the shutout.
The Colts, who were outshot 37-32 in the must-win contest at home, got a 34-save performance from netminder Sam Hillebrandt.
The Generals led 1-0 after the first period and took a 2-0 lead into the third.
Both teams went 0-for-3 on the power play.
The teams split the first two games in Oshawa, then the Generals won two in Barrie to take a commanding 3-1 lead. Barrie stayed alive with a 3-0 road win in Game 5 on Friday.
