CORNWALL, Ontario – Saturday, May 5, 2018, brought approximately 300 people to the Benson Centre for the Walk for Alzheimer’s, an annual event that aims to raise funds for treatment of the disease that affects close to 3,000 people in Cornwall and SDG counties.
It is the largest fundraiser held by the Alzheimer Society with an expectation of $25,000.
Josée Roy-Pilon helped bring it all together including inviting special guests and speakers like Guy Lauzon and Bruno Ielo from Big Brothers Canada.
“My grandmother had dementia and I can see how it impacts not only the person but the close family and extended family. It takes a community to take care of individuals who are facing the challenges of Alzheimer’s or Dementia,” said Josée.
