AKWESASNE – AMPS announced Wednesday afternoon that they had identified the body they discovered near Snye as Donald "Do" Johnson, who had been missing since Feb. 9. No cause of death has been disclosed.
AMPS announced early on the afternoon of Wednesday, Feb. 28 that they had found an unidentified body in Snye.
The body was found Wednesday morning after an aerial search conducted by the OPP.
The body was found at around 10:30 a.m. in a marshy area around Wade Lafrance Rd. near Tsi Snaihne (Snye) Akwesasne, QC.
AMPS has cordoned off a large area as they investigate the scene. They have brought in the Surete du Quebec Forensic Unit to assist with the processing of evidence.
AMPS are currently waiting on the results of a post mortem and toxicology test on the body.
