Two Cornwall men arrested during traffic stop for drug trafficking

SOUTH STORMONT, Ontario – On March 20, 2018 at 10:19 a.m., members of the Community Street Crime Unit, (ERT) and SD&G OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 138, South Stormont Township.

This resulted in the seizure of a quantity of Marihuana and methamphetamine pills plus an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency.

 Danial COOK, 32, of Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of Trafficking two counts

– Possession of a controlled substance

– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

– Fail to comply with conditions of a recognizance six counts

– Resist peace officer

Kyle FREEMAN, 28, of Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of Trafficking two counts

– Possession of a controlled substance

– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

COOK was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

Freeman was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on May 15, 2018.
