Teen facing weapon possession charges

SOUTH DUNDAS, Ontario – On August 18, 2018 at approximately 4:02 pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a young male with a weapon walking on Ottawa Street in South Dundas Township.

Investigation indicated that a young male was at the location with a weapon in his possession. SD&G OPP officers attended and arrested the youth without incident.

A 13-year-old male of South Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

–             Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose (Criminal Code of Canada – Section 88)

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on Sept. 20, 2018.

The name of the accused is being withheld in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
