ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 16th, 2023 and charged with assault. It is alleged on August 13th, the man assaulted his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend and police were contacted. On August 16th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 21st, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 16th, 2023 and charged with three counts of breach of release order for contacting his girlfriend, being within a certain distance of her, and attending her residence. It is alleged on August 16th, the man attended his girlfriend’s residence, despite his conditions, and police were contacted. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
FAIL TO ATTEND COURT
Cornwall, ON – Male, 67, of Cornwall was arrested on August 16th, 2023 and charged with failing to attend court. It is alleged on August 15th, 2023, the man failed to attend court for an impaired offence and police were contacted to investigate. On August 16th, 2023, police located the man and took him into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 5th, 2023.
THEFT UNDER $5000
Cornwall, ON – Male, 47, of Cornwall was arrested on August 16th, 2023 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on August 15th, the man took a cell phone belonging to someone he did not know. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 16th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 5th, 2023.
