BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 51-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 8th, 2023 and charged with breach of undertaking for being within 100 metres of his ex-wife’s residence. It is alleged on August 1st, the man attended within a certain distance of his ex-wife’s residence, despite his conditions. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 8th, 2023, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT ALTERCATION LEADS TO FOUR ARRESTS

Cornwall, ON – It is alleged during an altercation between a youth and a 58-year-old man on August 8th, 2023, the man assaulted the youth. The 58-year-old man was then assaulted by a 14-year-old youth, who struck him with a tool, assaulted by a 16-year-old youth, and was threatened by a 30-year-old man, who made threats to kill the 58-year-old man.

As a result of the investigation, the following charges were laid:

58-year-old man of Cornwall:

  • Assault

30-year-old man of Cornwall:

  • Uttering threats

14-year-old youth of Cornwall:

  • Assault with a weapon

16-year-old youth of Cornwall:

  • Assault

The four individuals were taken into custody and charged accordingly. The 58-year-old man was released to appear in court on September 26, 2023 and the 30-year-old man was released to appear in court on October 5, 2023. Both youth were released to appear in court at a later date.

The names of the individuals are not being released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
