NORTH STORMONT, Ontario – On Jan. 15, 2018 at approximately 3:14 a.m., Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a break-in at a business (MacEwens Gas Station) on Highway 138, North Stormont Township.

Investigation indicated that sometime overnight January 15, 2018 culprit(s) entered a business and removed cigarettes and lottery tickets.

An investigation continues.        

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

SOUTH STORMONT, Ontario – On Jan. 16, 2018 at approximately 7:16 a.m., SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence in South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation had taken place between a male and his wife. The Investigation revealed that the male had damaged property at the home and threatened his spouse.

A 52-year-old male from South Stormont, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Mischief

– Uttering threats

He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall

His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

SOUTH GLENGARRY, Ontario – On Jan. 16, 2018 at approximately 7:33 a.m., Stormont Dundas & Glengarry OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence in South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male had assaulted his ex-spouse.

An adult male, 41, from South Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with:

– Assault ( 4 counts)

– Assault with a weapon

The male was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on January 30, 2018. The names of the accused persons are being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.
