CORNWALL, Ontario – Environment Canada is warning that a "one day heat event" is coming to Cornwall and the surrounding area on Sunday, June 17.
“A warm and humid airmass is expected to move into Southern Ontario with maximum temperatures near 31 degrees and lows around 20 degrees on Sunday and Sunday night,” the Special Weather Statement from Environment Canada reads. “A cold front is expected to bring precipitation and cooler air into Southern Ontario on Monday. Therefore, this will only be a one day heat event.”
According to The Weather Network, Monday will actually feel warmer, with highs of around 30 degrees, but feeling more like 40 with the humidity.
Temperatures will go down to the mid-teens later in the day on Monday, and there is a risk of a thunderstorm.
