CORNWALL & UNITED COUNTIES of SD&G, Ontario – There is a severe thunderstorm watch in effect for the region.
“Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain,” reads the statement from Environment Canada. “Conditions will be favourable for severe thunderstorms late this morning into this afternoon. A cold front will move through Eastern Ontario, triggering numerous thunderstorms across the region.”
Environment Canada warns of winds up-to 100 km/h and 25 to 50 mm.
According to The Weather Network, the storms could start as early as 10 a.m.
In terms of temperature, Monday will remain hot into the evening, with temperatures feeling like they are in the 30s with the humidity.
