UPDATE: Cyclist dies of injuries after collision on County Rd. 2

UPDATE: At around 3:50 p.m. the OPP confirmed that the cyclist died of his injuries.

SOUTH GLENGARRY, Ontario – Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently at the scene of a collision where a passenger vehicle struck a cyclist on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township.

Investigation has indicated that at approximately 12:44pm, a passenger vehicle was travelling on County Road 2 at Rae Road in South Glengarry Township, when for reasons still under investigation, struck a cyclist.

The adult male (77) cyclist has been transported to the hospital and is in critical condition.

The driver of the passenger vehicle is uninjured.

A section of County Road 2 – Between Rae Road and Purcell Road, South Glengarry is closed to traffic.

SD&G OPP, assisted by OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI) continue to investigate.
