LANCASTER, Ontario – Peter MacEwen, Chief Operating Officer for MacEwen’s Gas recently announed a plan to expand and rejuvinate their gas station in the village of Lancaster.
The building as it is now sits on the Noth side of the Hwy 401 overpass on Military Rd.
The current site will be demolished to make way for the new remodel.
“We are very excited about our plans to redevelop the Lancaster site and make the layout safer and more user-friendly,” MacEwen said. “We have been working closely with the Township to develop a plan that is appealing to residents and capitalizes on the heavy traffic from the highway.”
The company will invest $1.7 million to build a new 3,035 sq. ft. structure, with six service pumps and 16 parking spaces.
“We are very supportive of the MacEwen’s project and thankful for their investment in South Glengarry,” said General Manager of Community Services Joanne Haley. “This local improvement will increase the visibility of the gas station and improve the flow of traffic on and around the property. With the new Community Improvement Plan (CIP) getting off the ground in the near future, this main street improvement will be a positive addition to Lancaster.”
