PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — J.R. Avon scored twice, Michael Simpson made 41 saves and the Peterborough Petes pulled ahead and away late for a 6-2 win over the Windsor Spitfires on Thursday.

Chase Stillman, Donovan McCoy, Connor Lockhart and Konnor Smith provided the rest of the offence for Peterborough (29-23-1-2), which won its third straight.

Matthew Maggio and Nicholas DeAngelis scored for Windsor (37-13-4-1). Joey Costanzo stopped 32-of-37 shots.

Pano Fimis had the lone goal for Erie (19-30-1-4), which got 38 stops from Kyle Downey.

Caeden Carlisle, Bryce McConnell-Barker and Julian Fantino added the others for Soo (17-24-9-5). Charlie Schenkel made 25 saves.

Daniel Michaud and Ryan Vannetten replied for Niagara (11-36-7-1). Owen Flores stopped 43-of-47 shots.
