The Prowlers GM/Coach Mitch Gagne has acquired Ahmed Mahfouz, MJ Graham and Dakota Ostrowski from the Bytown Royals in exchange for Marc Andre Labelle, Gabriel Veilleux, Jeff Clarke and JP Carey.
“This is probably the toughest move I’ve ever done in hockey but our team needed tweaking. It’s not easy giving up the 2 time league MVP (Labelle) but if you want something good you need to give something good. The addition to two familiar names I think will spark our team. Mahfouz and Graham are winners and gamers. They both know the city and know what direction we want to go. We are also happy to announce Tristan Perreault-Gagnon will be returning after an injury that set him back to start the season. Ostrowski will also be a key addition to our blue line.” said Gagne.
With the big trade completed yesterday Prowlers GM/Coach Mitch Gagne has selected his new Captain and Assistants.
Greg Gibson will be the Prowlers new Captain. The teams three Assistants will be Storm Adams, Nicolas Thibaudeau and MJ Graham.
Gagne says “I like this group and of course we considered Ahmed Mahfouz but he has work commitments and that’s part of senior hockey. He will be at some games he said but work comes first. This group of four will bring lots of leadership and I think we will see it off and on the ice.”
January 14th is the Cornwall Prowlers’ next game at the Benson Centre. Puck drop at 8pm vs. The South Stormont Mustangs.
