Curious about how your memory works? Want to learn strategies that may help you improve your cognitive functioning? Tri-County Literacy Council, 101 2nd Street West, is pleased to offer the community a free training titled: Mental Gymnastics for Everyone.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn:
- how memory works
- why do we forget things
- brain health
- strategies to improve your memory
- improve organizational skills
This course will also be augmented with interesting guest speakers from the community. Guest speakers’ topics include strategies to keep the brain healthy, chair exercise demonstrations, and the importance of good nutrition on the mind.
The curriculum was developed by Tri-County Literacy Council. The training is suitable for a variety of learners who wish to strengthen their memory skills.
“The brain is the most complex organ in the human body. It influences all aspects of our lives. Mental Gymnastics explores strategies for maximizing the health of our brain, so we can live productive, fulfilling lives. We are hoping that the community will take advantage of this FREE training,” said Carol Anne Maloney, Coordinator of Volunteers and Literacy Instructor.
