With the 2022 Municipal Election just three weeks away, the South Stormont Chamber of Commerce is inviting members of the community to a Meet the Candidates event on Thursday, October 6th at 7pm. The event will take place at the South Stormont Township Hall at 2 Mille Roches Road in Long Sault.
Voters and residents of South Stormont will have the opportunity to hear each candidate speak about their platform, followed by a moderated question and answer session.
“In preparation of this event, Voters of South Stormont are invited to send their questions to specific candidates to be read by the moderator during the Question and Answer Session,” explained the township on their Facebook page.
“Please feel free to send concise, respectful questions to specific candidates by email to the following address: southstormontchamber3@gmail.com by Wednesday October 5th 4 pm in order to be considered.”
In a disclaimer, organizers mentioned that due to time constraints some questions may not be read.
This is an interesting election for South Stormont as current Mayor Bryan McGillis is up for re-election against Deputy Mayor David Smith.
