HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have acquired American offensive lineman Colin Kelly from the Edmonton Elks in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2023 CFL draft.
Kelly, 32, has played 76 games over seven CFL seasons with Ottawa (2014-15) and Edmonton (2017-22).
He started at right tackle for the Redbacks in their 26-20 loss to Edmonton in the 2015 Grey Cup.
The six-foot-five, 298-pound native of Longview, Wash., also spent time in the NFL with Kansas City (2013-14) and San Francisco (2016).
The Elks also announced Monday that they have added linebacker Enock Makonzo, their fourth-overall pick in the 2022 CFL draft, and receiver Raphael Leonard to the active roster.
Meanwhile, Edmonton released defensive backs Matt Elam and Ethan Makonzo from the active roster and quarterback Michael Beaudry, receiver Jalin Marshall and defensive back Malik Sonnier from the practice roster.
Lions Sign American Linebacker Omar Fortt
VANCOUVER — The B.C. Lions have signed American linebacker Omar Fortt to their practice roster.
Fortt suited up in 39 games at the University Connecticut from 2017-21, registering 186 combined tackles (103 solo, 83 assisted), eight pass knockdowns, three fumble recoveries and an interception.
