WINDSOR, Ont. — Daniel D’Amico potted home a hat trick and Xavier Medina stopped all 38 shots he faced to power the Windsor Spitfires past the Flint Firebirds 4-0 in Game 7 of their OHL Western Conference Final Wednesday.

The victory sets up a J. Ross Robertson Cup final between the OHL’s top two teams this season — the Hamilton Bulldogs, who topped the league with 107 points — and the Spitfires.

D’Amico opened scoring in the game at the 7:46 mark of the first period. He notched his second goal at 13:30 of the opening frame.

Alex Christopoulos would score the game’s third goal at 16:10 before D’Amico completed his hat trick with an empty-net goal at 17:06 of the third.

Firebirds goalie Luke Cavallin made 32 saves in the loss.

The Spitfires will try to win their fourth OHL championship — and first since 2010 — against a Bulldogs team that has yet to lose a single post-season game this year.

Game 1 goes Friday in Hamilton.
