This year, the Fire and Ice themed Wine Festival was in support of the St. Lawrence River Institute of Environmental Sciences.
“We are thrilled to be involved with the River Institute,” said Lecky. “We can’t think of a better charity event to help. It’s such an important part of our community and Ontario for that matter.”
Lecky explained that each year the Ramada has hosted the Wine Festival organizers have selected a charity in which part of the proceeds will be donated to. Organizers were hoping to raise at least $15,000 this year. Tickets to attend were $110 per person and Lecky said approximately 425 individuals were in attendance.
The evening featured live music from Coco Thompson and Shahara of Montreal. Guests could venture into two themed rooms, one decorated to emulate ice and the other representing fire. An assortment of wine, beer and liquor was available to try, as well as variety of foods, from a choice of seafood, Indian cuisine, Japanese cuisine and more.
