CORNWALL, Ontario – Local school boards announced Monday night that for a second day in a row, buses would not be picking up students in the morning.
“For Tuesday January 22, 2019 all school vehicle transportation has been cancelled due to continued severe cold across the region, with temperatures in excess of Public Health guidelines. Schools will remain open,” read a notice on the Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario (STEO) website.
STEO is the consortium that manages school busing in Eastern Ontario and decides when buses are cancelled in consultation with school boards.
“Due to the continued cold temperatures and wind chill across the district, all transportation for #UCDSB schools will be cancelled tomorrow, Jan. 22. All schools will be open. If your child normally walks and you choose to keep them home, please notify your school,” read a statement from the Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB).
