CORNWALL, SDG – Environment Canada issued a winter storm watch for the region early Monday morning.
Snowfall amounts of 30 to 40 cm and blowing snow is expected Tuesday into Wednesday for the following areas:
Cornwall – Lancaster
Maxville – Alexandria
Morrisburg – Long Sault
Winchester – Newington
Snow is projected to begin midday Tuesday, accompanied by gusting Easterly winds up to 60 km/hour. This snow is associated with a Colorado Low that is expected to cross Southern Ontario Tuesday and Wednesday.
Avoiding travel is recommended as accumulating snow could make it more difficult. Tuesday’s snowfall is projected to impact rush hour traffic in urban centres.
Snow is projected to taper off during the day Wednesday.
