We need a makeover
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: old things have passed away, behold all things have become new.” (2 Cor.5:17)

When one watches TV, there a many programs that suggest a new makeover, either for your hair, or clothes style, or an exercise makeover program or even a room makeover!

The Bible suggests to us that we also as people need a makeover which God has already provided through His Son Jesus!

However, the kind of makeover that God speaks has nothing to do with one's outward appearance, but rather an inner heart change! Many people look real good with new clothes, make up, new car, new everything. Their being, self is still the same, hence the familiar which says: “never judge a book by its cover” or another one that says “all that glitters isn't gold!”

The verse above speaks to this whole situation of a makeover when it says “if anyone is in Christ (in union with Christ) he becomes a new person.” That is one gets a makeover, an inner change, a new heart, a new perspective on life, family, priorities, friends, habits, etc... In other words God with His divine power, causes us to become one of children and hence see things and life from God's vantage point and perspective! Life with God is much different, than life without God! With God as one God and Father, one can have assurance of God’s loving care and full supply. The greatest advantage is that now, life has a new meaning, a new purpose and often a new beginning. That's why the verse again says that “we are new creature, old things (old life) has passed away and all things are now new!”

Wow! Talk about a miracle and only God can perform this miracle in one's life. Again, one can change their outward appearance and look good BUT only God can give us a new inward makeover and make us a new creation by His Love and care and through all that Jesus His Son did for us on Calvary some 200 years ago!

Pray with me today: Dear God, a makeover sounds real good to me today. Not sure what all this means and I really don't understand You, or Your Bible but I do know that I need a new heart and yes a complete makeover inside. Thank you for hearing my prayer today. Come into my life and teach me how to live with You in my life each and every day. Amen.

Second Thoughts

1. The secret of getting ahead is getting started!

2. Worry is interest paid on trouble before its due!

3. Worry is actually negative faith and praying to the wrong god!

4. Pray often. God is listening and really does care!

Things To Be Thankful For

1. A spell of mild weather like a down payment for Spring that soon will come!

2. Our faithful mail delivery people who through rain, sleet, storms, etc. Make sure that the mail goes through and that we get our bills and flyers and yes some great letters from family and friends!

3. After a fresh snow fall, all is clean and white and looks so peaceful!

4. That we live in such a great country and with such great privileges and protections we enjoy especially in light of what we see that just happened and the devastation in Haiti!

Words From God’s Word - The Bible

1. “Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.” (psalm 68:19)

2. “Come to Me all you, who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

3. “Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you.” (psalm 55:22)

4. “When I am afraid, I will trust in You.” (psalm 56:3)

Always remember that God loves you. He really, really does!
