Man assaults two police officers at hospital

ASSAULT POLICE X TWO, CAUSE A DISTURBANCE, BREACH

CORNWALL, Ontario – Erik Johnsen, 37, of Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 15, 2019 and charged with two counts of assault police, cause a disturbance, as well as breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man caused a disturbance at the hospital on Nov. 14, and further assaulted two police officers. An investigation ensued and the man was taken into custody on Nov. 15, 2019. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT, THEFT UNDER $5,000

CORNWALL, Ontario – Sydney Oakes, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 15, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. She was also charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on July 25, 2019 for a theft charge and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On Nov. 15, she had allegedly attended a Cornwall Square business and removed merchandise without making any attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. She was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Dec. 17, 2019.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

CORNWALL, Ontario – Hope Fernandes-Smith, 24, of Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 16, 2019 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the woman was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol in the area of Brookdale Ave. and Fourteenth St., when the vehicle struck a fence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Nov. 28, 2019.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Adrien Sauve, 36, of Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 16, 2019 and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Nov. 16 the man attended a Cornwall Square business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Dec. 17, 2019.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

CORNWALL, Ontario – Andrew Lalonde-Lavigne, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 16, 2019 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol in the area of Brookdale Ave. and Seventh St. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Nov. 28, 2019.

POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME X FIVE, THEFT UNDER $5,000 X THREE

CORNWALL, Ontario – Eric Lacombe, 36, of Alexandria was arrested on Nov. 17, 2019 and charged with five counts of possession of property obtained by crime, as well as three counts of theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Nov. 9, the man took a snow blower, ladder and barbecue, from three different residences without permission and an investigation ensued. During a traffic stop, the man was observed to be in possession of the items, as well as other stolen property. On Nov. 17, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED

CORNWALL, Ontario – Bradley Legue, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 17, 2019 and charged with operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while prohibited from doing so in the area of St. Felix St. and Montreal Rd. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Dec. 3, 2019.
